How Our Driveway Estimates Work

Estimate methodology

Our aim is to provide useful early pricing without presenting a remote calculation as a guaranteed contractor quotation.

Information used in an estimate

Confirmed property addressMap or manual area measurementFront, rear or multiple areasCurrent surface and removalChosen materialGround and access questionsDrainage, covers, walls and stepsUploaded photographs or videoRegional pricing configurationCurrent material and fixed-cost settings

What AI may assess

When enabled and consented to, AI may identify visible surface types, cracks, drainage channels, covers, steps, slopes, vegetation, walls and access restrictions. Findings are confidence-labelled and are not treated as a structural survey.

Regional pricing

The estimating engine combines configured material rates, preparation items, access factors and project-specific answers. Regional supplier, labour, disposal and travel costs can still cause installer quotations to differ.

Why the final quotation may differ

A remote estimate cannot expose underground services, hidden ground conditions, exact excavation depth, contaminated spoil, drainage performance or every level change. The installer may also use different suppliers, specifications, overheads and commercial margins.

The remote figure is therefore an indicative planning range. A final quotation should follow the installer’s own review and, where appropriate, a physical survey.

Transparent pricing methodology

The current material guide rates and the date they were last reviewed are published in the Driveway Cost Guide.
